VH1 Classic....

I'm old, apparantly. Tuned into the VH1 Classic channel and they have this show called The Alternative. All the music from my youth. I love that show! Talking Heads, Cracker, Temple of the Dog, Jane's Addiction. Music I love and remember fondly. Tuned into Fuse too, but only to watch The Dive-there is some good music out there still. Don't care for all the metal they have on there though. One week to go until Coachella.

For all the music I've been listening to lately I've made a list of my top ten favorite songs as of now.......Mostly Coachella bands (getting myself psyched!)

NIN- With Teeth
NIN- All the Love in the World
NIN- Only
NIN- Right Where It Belongs
Stereophonics- Lying in the Sun
Kasabian- Reason is Treason
Kasabian- ID
The Dresden Dolls- Coin Operated Boy
U2- Dirty Day
Filter- Trip Like I Do

Harajuku hollaback....

Just surfing online, and what's got my attention is Gwen Stefani and her troupe of four Harajuku girls. There's a lot of opinions expressed on her "pimping" out these girls and Japanese culture, and most of these aren't in her favor. Well, at least she's making people notice. Personally, I couldn't care less about Gwen's image and her obsessions. I like her music - No Doubt and her solo stuff, but am I a Gwennabe? No. Have I ever been? No. Will I dress up as a Harajuku girl? No, even though I do think some of their clothes are cute. Will I buy L.A.M.B. accessories or clothes? No. I'm more of a T-shirt and jeans gal. I did see No Doubt in concert (eons ago) and while I was in line buying beer, she greeted me and my other two friends from her tour bus. I thought that was pretty cool of her. I don't think her Harajuku girls are that damaged. They're getting paid to hang out with her, attend events, appear in videos, but it's rumored they can't speak English in public or they'll get fired. That's pretty dumb, but heck, it's still a cool job. Key word - JOB. How many people do you know who are unhappy with their jobs? Yeah, I think these girls are doing ok for themselves. Far be it from me to judge.

So I called in sick again. My throat is on fire. Hmm, Bible study is tonight and it's an ice cream social. Isn't ice cream good for sore throats? Soothing or something like that?

God does not play dice.....

Today is the 50th anniversary of Einstein's death. Watched a documentary on him this morning. I'll have to pick up some biographies of him. I'm really not one for math, and the stuff totally blows my mind, but his way of thinking is elegant and brilliant. One of the people I truly admire. I should have paid more attention in my high school physics class. It wasn't until after high school that I found physics to be fascinating instead of boring.

I called in sick to work today. I must have caught the bug going around. Got me a sore throat, earache, and a headache. I'm not dying, but I'm not having fun either.

In other news, the new Zelda game has me pretty excited. Ocarina of Time is my favorite game EVER! The trailers look excellent. It's even inspired me to have my niece and nephew over for a weekend to play some OoT and Kingdom Hearts. I've added a screencap of the new Zelda game. Want to see more? http://www.zelda.com

Breathe....

I'm finally getting some time to breathe this weekend. I had plans, but canceled, because sometimes you just need to rest. Last week some coworkers and I celebrated R's birthday. A lot of April birthdays. Turned in my taxes - Dear God, so glad that's done. Life's literally been a blur the past two weeks. Had to go to some conferenceseminar deal for work in Fresno. That was actually a lot of fun. Not the shindig itself, but lunch and the traveling time was pretty darn entertaining. I'm finally able to sigh and relax. Planning on heading to the bookstore tomorrow morning.

No complaints.....

Tired....

Eh, today is one of those days. You know, you're tired, but don't want to sleep. Kinda hungry but don't want to eat. Maybe I should just veg out tonight. Come on Weekend, hurry up.

Again...

I'm tired of the past smacking me upside the head. I know I was talking about going in circles before, but now it's done happened again. I won't get into specifics, but everything is entirely too coincidental. Except I have a choice. And I'm getting off this damn merry-go-round. This isn't a Mary Goes Round situation anymore. I've got my arms extended, my head to the sky, and I'm not focusing on those two specific people anymore. Of course the irony has me in hysterics. I remember several occasions where we'd have these "tiffs," and that my view of life going in circles was laughed at and thought naive. Amazing how we've traded views. Not that I don't believe in circles - I still do, but I prefer to walk away. I don't enjoy the spinning or the dizziness and confusion. See me cast my stone and hopscotch my way out, but I'm not going back. That time is over. I've forgiven, and you are forgotten.

Scout's honor....

You know, I posted this past weekend, but damn this blog. Everything erased, and I didn't feel like typing it all up again. It's weird, it's still light outside and it's past 7pm. I guess my internal clock is going off the track, because I couldn't sleep last night. Finally dozed off at 5am, just to wake up at 7. Ugh. Follow that with a ten hour shift, and that's my day. Although, I really can't complain - work is fun. Well, not the actual work, but the company is awesome.

Yesterday Gidge and I took Tori out. Finally. It had to be done. We had been promising her since her b-day in January, and I can't be a bad Aunt. *points to self* Procrastinator, and don't say I didn't warn you. Anyway, we went to see Miss Congeniality 2 (good movie-pretty funny-not better than the original), and hit Big Bad Bubba's. We got to eat in the jail cell too. About time, I've always wanted to eat in there. It's adorable. Probably the only time I'll ever refer to jail as adorable. Let's all hope I don't get to eat in jail for real. *crosses fingers* We didn't eat dessert there though, we went to Cold Stone Creamery. Ice cream made fresh daily. Very yummy.

I'm so glad I didn't fall. My left leg has been exceptionally sore, and I've been walking around kinda peg-leggish. I think I worked to hard at the Eliptical Machine at the gym. Oh well.....I gotta get fit for Coachella. Why? So I can push and weedle my way through the crowd and into the front. Of course, who knows if that'll really happen.
